The world famous Hollywood director Steven Spielberg and wife Kate Capshaw have come forward to fight against Gay Marriage Ban. To lend their supporting hand in the fight against discrimination the pair has donated 100, 000 dollars.
This seems to be a great step taken by the two most powerful and influential figures to fight against California’s Proposition 8, ‘the ballot initiative that would ban gay marriage in the state.’
The couple not only gave money, but, they also issued some statements during their interviews to various magazines and newspapers. In one of the interviews they said about the act to support ‘the Equal Rights of every citizen’.
The actress, who’s best known for her role as “Willie Scott” in the film “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” in her interview to People Magazine she said that “By writing discrimination into our state constitution, Proposition 8 seeks to eliminate the right of each and every citizen in our state to marry regardless of sexual orientation.”
The couple further added that, “Such discrimination should have NO place in the Constitution of California, or any other Constitution in the world.” Some other well known people who are fighting for the cause involve Arnold Schwarzenegger, Barack Obama and Brad Pitt.
